INFORMATION FOR COMPETITORS

Located in the Expo Center

  1. Register online or all non-perishable exhibits will be entered between 10AM - 3PM on Sat., August 10, 2024 .
  2. All articles are exhibited at the owner’s risk, but all reasonable precautions will be taken for protection of items.
  3. The division entered will be determined by the person’s age on the opening day of the Fair (August 15, 2024).
  4. Name & age must be on the bottom or back of each item.
  5. No person may enter more than one entry in any one lot.
  6. Canned items will not be accepted unless they are in standard canning jars & sealed with 2-piece flat & ring lids. One piece tops are NOT accepted. Canning jars must be clear to be judged.
  7. All items must have been made since September 1, 2023 . Entries from prior years cannot be entered.
  8. All work must be the work of the exhibitor. While it is expected that there is a certain level of help needed from adults, majority of work must be done by exhibitor.
  9. Prizes will be awarded on the decision of the judge(s). Judge(s) will not be required to award prizes unless the quality of the entry is deserving of recognition.
  10. Premiums will be paid & exhibits must be removed between 1-3 PM. on Sun., Aug. 25.
  11. Wilson County Promotions will not be responsible for any entry left past the time specified in rule Number 10.
  12. Competition open to Wilson County Youth & Wilson County 4-H Club Members.
  13. Wilson County entries for competing in the Best of Tennessee State Fair Exhibits will be for 1st Place Winners or Best of Shows ONLY from the 2024 County Fair. This competition will take place at the 2025 Fair in the Made in TN Building. Lots eligible for this competitions are marked with an asterisk*.

Therefore, each entry must include a 3x5 index card with information about the item, such as what it is, who owned it, what it is used for, etc. All item must be at least 50 years old.

Rules
  • All photos must be the original work of the exhibitor.
  • Exhibitors are limited to 1 photograph in each lot.
  • Name, phone number & age of the exhibitor must be on the back upper right, whichever orientation is presented. This is to ensure the photo is entered into the correct class.
  • Judging will be based on quality, composition, originality & relevance.
  • All photos must be 8x10 & mounted on mat board with a stiff backing. NO poster board. The mat board must be 11x14 ONLY with an 8x10 opening. All others cannot be entered.
  • Any color mat will be accepted. No decoration is allowed on mat. NO framed pictures.
  • Due to limited display space, the same image cannot be entered in both color and B&W.
  • The management of the Fair reserves the right to refuse any photograph deemed unsuitable for competition and all photographs will be displayed at the discretion of the management of the Fair.
  • Entries that do not meet requirements may be disqualified for awards.
  • Any photograph that has previously been entered at this Fair is ineligible to compete.

• Must have been a 4-H member during the 2023-2024 year.
• Exhibits must be related to the 4-H member’s 4-H Project (not school or science project).
• Exhibits must be registered and assembled on Saturday, August 10 between 10 AM - 3 PM.
