Competition open to all Tennessee residents.
Wilson County residents must enter in the same classes & lots in the Wilson County Competition to enter in the State Canning Competition.Rules:
- No person may enter more than one exhibit in any one lot.
- Prizes will be awarded on the decision of the judges.
- All entries must be entered between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
- All entries are to be removed Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Entries not removed by 3:00 p.m. will be donated to a local nonprofit organization. No entry may be removed early.
- All entries must have been made on or after August 1, 2024.
- Exhibitors must be 19 years old or older.
- Wilson County Promotions will not be responsible for any loss or damage to entries.
- No exhibitors will be allowed in the exhibition area during judging.
- All entries must be entered in clean, standard canning jars (no specialty jars) with new, single use two-piece lids and bands. No decorative jars and no overlays or accessories on jars. Exhibits should be canned using tested recipes issued in 2009 or later. For example, USDA, Ball, Sure-Jell, or National Center for Home Food Preservation guidelines, etc.
- Entries deemed unsafe by chairman will be disqualified and ineligible for ribbons or premiums.
Completed Wilson County Fair Food Preservation labels are required for all entries and should be attached to entry. No substitutions.
